internships: a head start to your career

As part of our college-recruiting program, we offer a strong firmwide internship program for which we recruit top college and university candidates in the fields of assurance, taxation, computer information systems, and finance/investment banking. More than 100 students annually will experience a three-to-four-month internship where they’ll be exposed to a profession in their field of study, as well as Plante & Moran in general. Our internship program is one of our key recruiting tools, as approximately 90 percent of our interns will ultimately return for their full-time careers.

The focus of our internship program is to provide actual, on-the-job experience through training at various client engagements, including attendance at client meetings. In addition, our interns are mentored by a team partner and through our Buddy Program, and we provide many opportunities for them to socialize with our staff.

We also focus on their professional development through formal classroom and on-the-job training. During each semester of the internship program, we conduct a two-day Intern Retreat. The focus of the retreat is to provide an informative, constructive, interactive, and entertaining learning experience that benefits our interns in their personal and professional development as they advance toward a full-time career.
