Decision Support tools for cost accounting & budgeting

Plante & Moran has affiliated with Enterprise Performance System Inc. (EPSi) to bring sophisticated decision support tools to our middle-market health care clients.    

EPSi is packaged as two separate services, both of which contain unique modules. 1) Cost Accounting – contains both the resource costing application and a Product Line Analysis tool. 2) Budgeting – includes both an operating and capital module and an integrated reporting module.

You can select either or both products. The cost accounting is simple-to-use, yet sophisticated and helps create department managers’ buy-in for developing costs at the charge level. This budgeting tool allows you to have a truly variable budgeting process, where expenses and revenues are associated with changes in volume. It includes the ability to compare actual activity to your budgeted activity online – and to discover why there are variances.

EPSi has over 50 clients nationwide that represent about 100 hospitals. Plante & Moran offers the product through an Application Service Provider approach, which is accessed through your Internet browser. Fully installed and configured by Plante & Moran health care consultants, it requires no new resources, no new hardware, no additional FTEs and no annual maintenance fees.
