Senior Distance Learning Series
Overview AOPHA and Plante & Moran have teamed to offer a series of distance learning educational opportunities about the survey process in nursing homes. In this series, we will look at the survey process from several different approaches.
The first session looks at the survey process from the headset of the environmental services staff. We will review the pertinent regulations and requirements, look at the most frequently cited deficiencies, and develop strategies to be prepared for and manage the survey while it is in-process.
In our second program we focus on the front line staff - how to be ready when the announcement is made "Surveyors are in the building." Do you have an Action Plan? We will look at ways to prepare the staff to be ready for survey - what to expect, what to do, what to say. Part of survey success is readiness as the surveyors are spending more time interviewing and observing the front-line staff.
The final survey session will stress recent process changes, the interpretive guideline updates and preparing for the Quality Indicator Survey. The survey world is ever-changing so we will focus on what is happening, how the surveyors are using the latest updates and revisions and what to expect next.
The interdisciplinary team can hear and see the same information via audio and Web formats at the same time and not incur travel expenses for the facility. Plus, continuing education certificates will be sent to your door.
