2008 Ohio Medicare Part B Fee Schedule Update

As a result of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007, effective January 1, 2008 through June 30, 2008, the physician fee schedule will have an overall increase of .5%.

As it stands right now, effective July 1, 2008 and after, the physician fee schedule will revert back to the previous payment methodology that was outlined in the Final Rule, published in the Federal Register on November 27, 2007, which was an overall decrease of 10%.

We have attached the 2008 Ohio Medicare Part B Fee Schedule for Outpatient Rehabilitation Services. Please forward this schedule to your business office as these updated Part B fee screens must be used for January 2008 billings. For budgeting and comparison purposes, we have provided the 2007 fee screen amounts and a calculation of the differences.

Medicare Cost Report Bad Debt Checklist

National government services has created a bad debt checklist that must accompany the 2007 Medicare cost report. NGS will be sending each facility a checklist to complete and sign. We have attached an example.
