organizational planning

The organization of a College and/or University has a substantial impact on the delivery of a quality education to its students.

The process of organizational planning and analysis focuses on methods that will achieve current or future operating and educational goals. This process involves an analysis of:

  • Goals of the organization
  • The specific operating environment
  • Current personnel resources and staffing levels
  • Configuration of those personnel resources
  • Methods for achieving specified organizational goals
  • Performance management

This process includes the development of organizational charts, definition of reporting relationships, and definition of authority and responsibility levels.

The evaluation of communication channels and working relationships between all levels of faculty, administration, and supporting staff is also addressed. Particular emphasis is placed on defining information requirements essential to the effective performance of all organizational positions.
