organizational planning

The organization of a school district has a substantial impact on what happens in and around the classroom.

The process of organizational planning and analysis focuses on methods that will achieve current or future operating and educational goals. This process involves an analysis of:

  • Goals of the organization
  • The specific operating environment
  • Current personnel resources and staffing levels
  • Configuration of those personnel resources
  • Methods for achieving specified organizational goals
  • Performance management
  • This process includes the development of organizational charts, definition of reporting relationships, and definition of authority and responsibility levels.

The evaluation of communication channels and working relationships between all levels of administration and supporting staff is also addressed. Particular emphasis is placed on defining information requirements essential to the effective performance of all organizational positions.
