NAIC Model Audit Rule compliance
Since June 2006, when the National Association of Insurance Commissioners enacted its enhanced Model Audit Rule, we have been working with clients to make sure they are ready for the changes that will go into effect over several years culminating with a 2010 deadline.
We helped them understand and implement the audit committee requirements effective Jan. 1, 2008. We also are encouraging them to monitor the growth in their premium levels to ensure they are prepared to fulfill the new NAIC reporting requirements that are similar to those required for public companies regulated by the SEC under Section 404 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act.
