Capital Funding Update & Exit Analysis
FIRST QUARTER 2008

The orthopedic market experienced a robust capital environment in 2007.  Thirty-four companies, representing every technology category except facet replacement, raised approximately $580 million.  Capital investment thrived during 2007, with the second and third quarters experiencing unusually high activity.  The second quarter experienced a record thirteen raises, and the third quarter remained strong, buoyed by Globus Medical's impressive raise of $110 million.
