Joseph Cunningham, JD, CPA

Joe has been selected by “The Best Lawyers in America – Directory of Experts” as an expert in the “Valuation” category. He has had numerous judicial appointments as the court’s expert. Joe has significant expertise in tax, business consulting, and the following specific areas: business valuation, divorce taxation, marital settlements, and commercial litigation damages.

Joe holds memberships in several accounting, appraisal, and legal professional organizations, including: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, American Society of Appraisers, State Bar of Michigan, including membership in the Taxation and Family Law Sections, Member of the Family Law Council 1986-92, 1996-99; Chairperson of the Family Law Section Tax Committee continuously since 1983, American Bar Association, including membership on the Domestic Relations Tax Problems Committee, Section of Taxation, Oakland County Bar Association; Chair of the Tax Committee for 1984-85; Family Law Committee since 1987, Vice Chair for 1991-92 and Chair for 1992-93, and Oakland County Estate Planning Council.

Joe holds a College of Law, Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit and a Bachelor of Science, Accounting from the University of Detroit, College of Commerce and Finance.
