Our Northwest Chicago office was opened in 2007 near the I-90 and Randall Road intersection on the west side of the city of Elgin. We are 30 miles from the O’Hare International Airport and less than an hour from downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan.
Once again this year, we were recognized by FORTUNE magazine as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America. This is our 16th year on the list. We are the highest ranked accounting firm to achieve this award.
In 2012, Crain’s Chicago Business magazine recognized Plante Moran as one of the “Best Places to Work” in Chicago. We ranked #15. The magazine also recognized us as being “One of the Best Places to Work for Women.”
Plante Moran has also been recognized by Vault.com, the Detroit Free Press, and the International Accounting Bulletin as a great place to work.
Becoming more eco-conscious in our buildings is of great importance to the firm. Many of us pride ourselves on being responsible corporate and community citizens. We’ve made significant strides in the areas of building design and furnishings, energy efficiency, paper conservation, and environmental awareness/waste reduction.
Through our Plante Moran Cares initiative, we’ve found a way to formally engage staff members in firm-sponsored volunteer activities. Each year we select a worthy charitable cause that all of our offices in Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio support.
Our most recent endeavor is sponsoring The Boys and Girls Clubs of America in the cities where we have offices. Our staff members have raised money through a variety of fundraising efforts and donated their time to help with projects at local clubs. Staff can learn about additional volunteer opportunities through our Plante Moran Volunteer Network; they simply sign up for their areas of interest (food & hunger, safety & shelter, education, etc.), and we send them an e-mail when an opportunity arises.
For the past 10 years, our office has proudly supported the local YWCA with donations and gifts during the holiday season.
It’s not always “all work and no play” around here. We host many events that offer our staff members a chance to interact with each other and relax. Here are just a few of the ways we enjoy ourselves at the Northwest Chicago office: participation in the local gym’s decathlon contest, a school supply drive, the yearly holiday party, paintball outings, a softball team, and a Halloween party.
