Many people equate Ann Arbor with the University of Michigan. While the university is a significant contributor to the city’s workforce and driver of economic success, many industries and businesses are located in Ann Arbor, one of Michigan’s largest cities.
Plante & Moran’s Ann Arbor office is home to more than 80 staff members focused on serving clients in the manufacturing, service, real estate, education, and government industries. We offer a variety of services, from audit and tax to cost segregation, and R&D credits to financial and business management consulting services. We’re thrilled to call this cutting-edge, environmentally aware, progressive city home.

Community Involvement
Plante & Moran in Ann Arbor, Mich., genuinely cares about our community. Individually and collectively, our staff donates thousands of hours annually to help make our communities better.
Last year the Ann Arbor office launched their “Warm the Children” drive. Administered through the Ann Arbor News, the office collected more than $3,928 in just 3 weeks for the cause. Several staff members also volunteered to be personal shoppers.
The Ann Arbor office also participates in any firmwide community service initiatives. For 2008-2009, Plante & Moran offices are working with an organization to send care packages to U.S. troops fighting overseas. Each office is donating snacks, condiments, games, and toiletries and working together to assemble these care packages to send them off to our troops.
Sustainability
All of us at Plante & Moran have not only prided ourselves on our audit and tax services, but have also taken great care to be responsible corporate and community citizens. So it’s only natural that we adopt an even stronger environmentally friendly and sustainable approach going forward. We’ve made significant strides in the areas of building design and furnishings, energy efficiency, paper conservation, and environmental awareness/waste reduction. Here are just a few of the initiatives currently in place:
- Each staff has work tools that allow remote access and document sharing from different locations. This has reduced gas consumption and provided greater flexibility while improving collaboration.
- We’re increasing our use of recycled paper products, including our firm letterhead and new firm brochure.
- All Plante & Moran Ann Arbor offices are equipped with automatic lighting, which shuts off once no activity is detected for 25 minutes.
