Most commonly known as the home of the Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills is one of the youngest cities in Oakland County. It is an economically
vibrant and diverse business community successfully engaging global commerce. Over the past several years, it has seen tremendous growth in manufacturing and emerging technology, and it’s home to 900 thriving businesses in retail, high tech manufacturing, and research.
With more than 160 financial advisors and team members, Auburn Hills is Plante & Moran’s second-largest office. Numerous specialty groups work here, including manufacturing, construction and real estate, global services consulting, and Plante Moran Financial Advisors. The firm’s industry and service group leaders for financial institutions, K-12 education, employee benefits consulting, and the Japanese business practice all reside in the Auburn Hills office.
Plante & Moran has been named one of FORTUNE magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” the past 16 consecutive years. The firm was also cited as one of 18 “Great Companies for Millennials” by HRE magazine.
For the second consecutive year, Leadership Development magazine named Plante & Moran to its annual list of the Top 100 Leadership Development Programs. We ranked first in the “small-to-midsize organizations” and “large consulting groups” categories.
We genuinely care about our communities. Individually and collectively, our staff donates thousands of hours annually to help make our communities better.
For the past several years, the Plante & Moran Auburn Hills office has donated pounds of non-perishable Thanksgiving dinner items to Light of Oakland County. This year we donated 700 lbs.
This year, we participated in the Tree of Warmth for the Friendship House in Hamtramck, Mich. Our first annual “Tree of Warmth” has been a big success. Staff donated new hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, and blankets to the Friendship House of Detroit. Staff also donated more than 200 items to the Easter Seals.
In addition, the Auburn Hills office participates in any firmwide community service initiatives. For 2008-2009, Plante & Moran offices are working with an organization to send care packages to U.S. troops fighting overseas. Each office is donating snacks, condiments, games, and toiletries and working together to assemble these care packages to send them off to our troops.
Because of our commitment to our communities and being as “green” as possible, Plante & Moran, including our Auburn Hills, Mich., office, undertook a number of environmentally friendly measures at our 2008 Firm Conference:
- Firm Conference program booklets were printed on recycled paper.
- Sandwiches came in boxes made of recycled paper. The boxes and other food items (chips, fruit, cookies, etc.) were then placed in environmentally friendly bags, which staff were encouraged to take home and use for groceries.
- Silverware was made of recycled potatoes.
- All leftover food was donated to a local homeless shelter.
