Outside magazine named Traverse City, Mich., as one of the top 10 places to live in the United States. The reasons are many. A spectacular natural environment, miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, and waterfront living at its best. You can choose a quiet historic neighborhood or live the country life just minutes from downtown. Or enjoy old-fashioned small town living in one of our neighboring towns and villages.
With more than 50 independent financial advisors and staff members who enjoy living and working in northern Michigan, we focus on providing comprehensive consulting services from audit and accounting to operations improvement for the manufacturing, health care, construction, real estate, and service industries.
Recognitions
Plante & Moran has been named one of FORTUNE magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” the past 11 consecutive years. In 2009, Plante & Moran was the leading accounting and management-consulting firm on the list. The firm was also cited as one of 18 “Great Companies for Millennials” by HRE magazine.
For the second consecutive year, Leadership Development magazine named Plante & Moran to its annual list of the Top 100 Leadership Development Programs. We ranked first in the “small-to-midsize organizations” and “large consulting groups” categories.
Community Involvement
Quality of life and family are important aspects of our practice. Our staff especially enjoys volunteering their time with a number of local community-based organizations.
While the Traverse City office participates in the firmwide “PM Cares” project, We also volunteer and gather donations for a wide variety of local charities, such as the Father Fred Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake, Festival of Trees, House of Hope, and many others.
In addition, each year the Traverse City office adopts a family and provides them with gifts and a holiday meal.
Sustainability
All of us at Plante & Moran have long prided ourselves on being responsible corporate and community citizens, so it’s only natural that we adopt an even stronger environmentally friendly and sustainable approach going forward. We’ve made significant strides in the areas of building design and furnishings, energy efficiency, paper conservation, and environmental awareness/waste reduction. Here are just a few of the initiatives currently in place:
- Each staff has work tools that allow remote access and document sharing from different locations. This has reduced gas consumption and provided greater flexibility while improving collaboration.
- We’re increasing our use of recycled paper products, including our firm letterhead and new firm brochure.
- Our office is equipped with sensors that automatically shut off lights in staff offices after 15 minutes of inactivity.
