Plante & Moran’s Hermann Named one of Accounting Today’s “Top 100 People”
SOUTHFIELD, Michigan — Plante & Moran, PLLC, one of the nation’s largest accounting and business advisory firms, is pleased to announce that Bill Hermann, CPA, the firm’s managing partner, has been named one of Accounting Today’s “Top 100 People” of 2008 . The “Top 100 People” list is comprised of CPAs, attorneys, regulators, educators, and vendors who exemplify leadership and influence in the accounting field. The publication’s editorial staff reviewed the candidates and chose the Top 100.
In its September 22 issue , Accounting Today sites Hermann’s commitment in “building his firm’s presence in the Midwest and beyond, and expanding into innovative new areas” as one of the ways he exemplifies leadership in the accounting profession.
In the eight years that Hermann has served as Plante & Moran’s Managing Partner, he has led the firm’s growth expanding the firm's geographic footprint and broadening service capabilities. In 2005, the firm merged with the BKR Dupuis & Ryden, a Flint, Michigan CPA firm, and added additional capabilities by joining with Wetmore & Associates, an Illinois firm. In 2004, he led Plante & Moran’s merger with the Chicago firm, Gleeson, Sklar, Sawyers and Cumpata and the expansion of the firm’s international capabilities through the creation of Plante & Moran Global Services which has an office and staff members in Shanghai, China and Monterrey, Mexico. Also under Hermann’s direction, Plante Moran Trust, a trust bank formed to meet clients’ estate planning needs, was formed.
