— Paul Bryant, CPA, partner at Plante & Moran, PLLC, the nation’s 12th largest certified public accounting and business advisory firm, has been appointed to the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants’ (MACPA) board of directors. In this two-year term, Bryant will take a leadership role in the decisions and positions adopted by the MACPA and work to ensure that the goals and objectives of the association are achieved.
“We are very happy to welcome Paul onto the MACPAs’ board of directors,” said Jonathan Anibal, MACPA board chair. “Paul’s active involvement and dedication to the future of the accounting profession makes him an excellent addition to the association’s leadership team.”
Bryant joined Plante & Moran in 1993 and was named partner in 2007. He specializes in providing assurance, tax, and business consulting services to clients in the manufacturing and distribution, education, government, and not-for-profit industries, and also has extensive experience in A-133 single audit compliance.
“I’m very excited and honored to be appointed to this position,” said Bryant. “The MACPA continues to promote the high standards of quality, objectivity, and integrity held by the accounting profession and I’m proud to be a part of this organization.”
In addition to his active involvement with the MACPA, Bryant is an influential member of the National Association of Black Accountants, receiving its 2009 National Achievement in Public Accounting award. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and serves as chair of the Academy of Finance Golightly Vocational Center in Detroit.
Bryant holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Michigan University. He resides in Farmington Hills with his wife, Pamela, and their children, Justin and Lauryn.
