Local Organizations Collaborate to Offer a Speaker Series for Leaders in the Non-Profit Sector


SOUTHFIELD, Michigan — Six southeastern Michigan organizations have partnered to offer a speaker series entitled Executive to Executive. The series designed for nonprofit leaders and board members will offer practical applications to help their organizations succeed and grow. The four-part series is offered through a partnership of the United Way for Southeastern Michigan, Michigan Nonprofit Association, Plante & Moran, Blender Consulting Group, the McGregor Fund, and The Center for Nonprofit Management at Lawrence Technological University.

The Executive to Executive series will consist of quarterly presentations featuring prominent leaders who are making a difference in the non-profit sector. Presentations include:

  • Strategies for Nonprofit Organizations - October 26, 2010
    • Rip Rapson, President, The Kresge Foundation
  • Maximizing the Internet - January 11, 2011
    • Tim Freeth, online operations manager, Google
  • Mergers and Collaborations - March 22, 2011
    • Richard Dugas, chief executive officer, Pulte Corporation and Michael Brennan, chief executive officer, United Way
  • Strategic Innovation - May 3, 2011
    • Dr. Allan Afuah, Associate Professor of Strategy, University of Michigan


All presentations will be held from 8:30 – 10 a.m. and registration will begin at 8 a.m. The presentations will be held at Lawrence Technological University, Buell Building, Room M218. The registration fee is $25 per session or $80 for the series.
