Plante & Moran, Warner Norcross Offer Seminar for Companies Who Want Practical Solutions to Drive Growth


GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — Plante & Moran, PLLC and Warner Norcross & Judd LLP are offering a joint seminar on Oct. 6 designed to help West Michigan businesses harness innovation and grow their revenue. 

“Innovation: Solutions 2 Drive Profitability” will feature sessions on technology, tax incentives, attracting and incentivizing top talent, capital formation, growth strategies and other topics designed to help companies with $10 million – $200 million in revenue take the next step in their growth plans. Accountants and business advisors from Plante & Moran, along with attorneys from Warner Norcross, will lead panel discussions that will provide practical solutions that companies can use in their efforts to expand into new markets or territories. 

The seminar is targeted to C-suite executives, including chief executive officers, chief financial officers and chief operating officers, as well as board members and other decision makers. There is no charge to attend, but advanced registration is required.

The seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 6, will be held from 7:30-11 a.m. at the Western Michigan University Conference Center at 200 Ionia Ave. SW in downtown Grand Rapids. Breakfast and networking will begin the day from 7:30-8 a.m., followed by the keynote address and eight breakout sessions. Attendees will choose two 45-minute sessions.

Nate Young, president of NewNorth Center for Design in Business in Holland, will be the keynote speaker. His opening talk, “Creating a Culture of Innovation,” is focused on helping business leaders succeed by leverage design, creative process and innovation methodologies to enhance their product and service portfolios.  

A longtime West Michigan resident and business leader, Young launched NewNorth in 2009 to provide executive education through seminars, workshops and retreats, as well as proprietary innovation-based research. A former engineer and designer at innovative automotive interiors company Prince Corp., which was acquired by Johnson Controls, Young was the co-founder of product design and development firm, TWISThink, both in Holland. He has also served as provost of the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasedena, Calif.
