Plante & Moran Marketing Program for FORTUNE 100 Award Garners Honors from the Association for Accounting Marketing


Southfield, Mich.
– Plante & Moran, PLLC, one of the nation’s largest public accounting and business advisory firms, announces it received a Marketing Achievement Award from the Association for Accounting Marketing at its annual Marketing Achievement Awards event. The event, held in Chicago in June, recognizes outstanding achievements in accounting marketing and communications.

The firm was recognized in the internal firm programs category (firms over $15 million) for its internal marketing initiative celebrating the firm’s 13th year on FORTUNE magazine’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For. The internal campaign included:

  • A “relatively jerk-free” t-shirt distributed to every staff member within the firm.
  • The “What I Like About Plante & Moran” contest, where staff were invited to weigh in with their favorite attributes about the firm in five essay and five video categories. Prizes were awarded for first, second, and third place in each category, and staff from the firm voted for one grand prize winner who received a $500 Visa gift card.
  •  A social networking component where staff were encouraged to celebrate the firm’s win on Facebook. Making it a two-for-one, staff also asked their Facebook friends to place a vote for one of 15 domestic violence shelters within the firm’s geographic footprint in order for that shelter to receive an additional donation from the firm. (The firm previously selected these shelters as part of its annual P&M Cares charitable outreach initiative.)


According to Jeff Antaya, CPA, Plante & Moran Partner and Chief Marketing Officer, the firm considers the FORTUNE award a major accomplishment and worthy of marketing efforts dedicated to those who make it possible.

“Our staff are the reason Plante & Moran continues to win the FORTUNE award. Marketing the meaning and success of the award directly to staff re-emphasizes the role they play in creating a firm spirit and culture that is worthy of national recognition,” explains Antaya.

This is the second award Plante & Moran has received from AAM. In 2006, the firm was recognized in the best magazine/newsletter category for its Universal Advisor, a hard copy and on-line publication written for and about clients and friends of Plante & Moran.
