Plante & Moran's Rich Antonini Received FSU Distinguished Alumni Award

Grand Rapids, Michigan, June 2, 2011 – Rich Antonini, managing partner of the Grand Rapids office of Plante & Moran, PLLC, has received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Ferris State University.

The alumni award is based on leadership and service in the following areas: professional growth, participation with activities, clubs or organizations that enhance diversity and multiculturalism, community service, and commitment to the Ferris State University University. Antonini was selected for this honor by a committee of nine alumni, which includes members of the FSU Alumni Association Board, past award recipients and others representing the academic colleges.

Antonini is one of three FSU alumni who received the Distinguished Alumni Award this year. The award, which has been given every year since 1960, is presented at the Spring Reunion Banquet.

“I am honored to receive this award from my alma mater,” said Antonini. “FSU is a wonderful school that provided me with an excellent education and a lot of wonderful memories. I am particularly pleased to follow in the footsteps of my father, who was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni in 1986 from FSU.”

Antonini graduated from FSU in 1986 with a bachelor of science degree in accountancy. He is currently a certified public accountant and assurance professional at Plante & Moran, and a leader of the firm’s manufacturing and distribution industry team.

Antonini has been involved in many professional and community organizations throughout his career, including: the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, American and Michigan Trucking Associations. He currently serves as treasurer of the West Michigan Precision Metal Forming Association and as foundation board president of Potter’s House Christian School. He is also a past board member for the Grandville Rotary, Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has also hosted workshops to assist FSU alumni with their wills and estates planning.
