Plante Moran’s Auburn Hills office lauded for community service

Auburn Hills, Mich. — The Auburn Hills office of Plante Moran, the nation’s 12th largest public accounting and business advisory firm, has received the 2011-2012 Community Service award from the Boys & Girls Club’s Matilda R. Wilson Club of Auburn Hills.
The award, which reads, “In grateful appreciation of your generous commitment of time and support of the Auburn Hills community,” was presented to Plante Moran at the Matilda R. Wilson Club of Auburn Hills 23rd Annual Steak & Burger Dinner on April 25.
The Community Service award is given to a business, individual or group that makes an extra effort to ensure the success of the programs and services at the Matilda R. Wilson Club. At the dinner, Auburn Hills mayor Jim McDonald, a long-term supporter of the Club, lauded Plante Moran’s Auburn Hills office for providing funding and volunteer hours to benefit members and the community at large.
“Plante Moran continues to contact us on a regular basis asking us what the members need at the Boys & Girls Club. They have provided numerous supplies, ranging from pool sticks, table games and art supplies, to office supplies. Probably the item that our members cherish most is the generous donation of healthy snacks they have provided for members who come to the club with nothing to eat. As a matter of fact (Plante Moran) dropped off another supply today since the last box of supplies just ran out,” McDonald said.
Tina Peters, CPA, an associate in the Auburn Hills office and an active volunteer, accepted the award on behalf of her Plante Moran colleagues. Support for the Boys & Girls’ Clubs is part of Plante Moran’s firm-wide Plante Moran Cares initiative. Each year, Plante Moran Cares selects a worthy cause that will be supported by staff in its 18 offices throughout Illinois, Michigan and Ohio. Boys & Girls’ Clubs of America is PM Care’s 2011-2012 designated charity.
