Southfield, Mich. — 15 years after the introduction of its glossy, content-rich Universal Advisor magazine, Plante Moran, one of the nation’s largest public accounting and business advisory firms, announces a rebranding of the publication under a new title: Engage.
“For 15 years, we have engaged readers through the Universal Advisor with articles focused on the business issues that affect our clients most,” said Plante Moran Chief Marketing Officer and Partner, Jeff Antaya, CPA. “Last year we challenged our executive editor, Mindy Kroll and our in-house design team, to modernize the publication to keep pace with the developing preferences of a digital-rich world. With Engage, our experts will continue to deliver that valuable information, but we’ll do so with more Q&A’s, photos, infographics and podcasts, moving toward an on-line e-zine while still having a hard copy version available.”
The debut issue of Engage was released today and will be published three times a year and distributed to nearly 50,000 clients and friends of Plante Moran. Content includes 20 questions with Illinois-based tool manufacturer and distributor C.H. Hanson, family owned and operated since 1866, as well as a look at weak links in email security and humanizing a brand through social media (with insights from zany outdoor clothing and recreational gear retailer Moosejaw).
Also included in the debut of Engage are reflections on Plante Moran’s 90th anniversary with current leaders and former firm managing partners. Commenting on the firm’s core purpose, Managing Partner Gordon Krater said, “We all have a sense of stewardship — we’re in this together to create something outstanding and leave it better than we found it for the next group of leaders.” Noting an appropriate gift for the firm’s 90th anniversary, former managing partner Bill Matthews, who led the firm from 1993 to 2001, said, “We’ve always preferred gold…the Golden Rule. It’s our very foundation.”
