I’ve been sky diving, power hang gliding, and bungee jumping. The first time I ever bungee jumped was in New Zealand off a 134-meter-high gondola dangling over a miniscule ravine way below.

Experience

As a member of the firm’s renewable energy tax practice and member of the firm’s real estate and construction tax team, I help business owners and developers maximize their tax planning.  My expertise in renewable energy credits, tax incentives, and tax planning strategy allows me to problem solve with clients for creative solutions.

Clients appreciate my integrity, my no-nonsense approach, and my nearly 30 years of experience with tax planning and solutions. I enjoy partnering with construction and real estate companies on the nuances of their tax plans and developing deferral of income strategies. As one of the founders of the firm’s renewable energy practice, I’ve helped close renewable energy projects across the United States. I’ve also played a key role in developing Michigan Brownfield tax credit legislation.

I’m proud of how my work and this practice’s expansion has opened more assignments for young staff. These upcoming professionals might joke about the brisket and kielbasa I make in my office’s roaster oven, but I sincerely hope they take away my passion for the work I do for clients every day.

I’m often asked to speak at national conferences and give my opinion on the market conditions for local newspapers. The Commercial Alliance of Realtors presented me with the Distinguished Affiliate Award in 2017. I have a realtor’s license and belong to the AICPA, the MICPA, and the Commercial Alliance of Realtors. I earned a B.B.A. from Central Michigan University and an M.S. in taxation from Grand Valley State University.
