I've combined my passion for manufacturing/building with my creative side by making birthday cakes for my children. I’ve transformed cakes into trains, pirate ships, chessboards, books, flowers, owls, and teapots.

Experience

I'm an audit partner and quarterback of a variety of several client service teams in the firm's Southeast Michigan manufacturing and private education practices. I particularly enjoy working with clients who are navigating the transition of their business to the next generation or a strategic partner. My not-for-profit experience focuses on serving private education organizations from K-12 to higher education and related foundations. I love working with clients and business enterprises that are mission-driven and make a positive impact on their local communities, their employees, and families, as well as their customers.

In the nearly 30 years I’ve spent at Plante Moran, I’ve held many leadership positions in our M&D, employee benefit plan, and NFP groups. I remain passionate about staff development. I’m a strong proponent of women in manufacturing initiatives inside and outside of the firm.

I regularly speak to clients and their boards at their annual finance meetings covering the financials as well as upcoming accounting and tax regulations. I’ve also presented at multiple CEO roundtables at the annual Women In Manufacturing conference, facilitating discussions across several topics including business succession, developing the next generation of leaders, talent pipeline, international growth, and cybersecurity.

I belong to the AICPA and the Michigan Association of CPAs. I also participate on the Women In Manufacturing MI Chapter Board and the Paton Accounting Board of the University of Michigan Ross School of Business where I received my B.B.A.

In addition to parenting — I've been a working mom for 20 years — I try to stay active. I like Zumba, dance fitness, and yoga classes, as well as hiking. I also love entertaining family and friends and occasionally making jewelry.
