I’ve always had a thirst for knowledge, which is why I read every car magazine I could while in high school and how I built my Camaro — purely from reading and through trial and error. There was no internet back then.

Experience

I lead the manufacturing practice for Plante Moran's East Lansing office and the Japanese business services team in West Michigan and Indiana. I specialize in providing support to business leaders on financial and tax ramifications related to strategy, banking, industry issues, and best practices

My clients include middle-market private equity-owned organizations, Japanese-owned businesses, and owner-operated companies.

I’ve been with the firm more than 20 years, and I’m known for providing straightforward, upfront advice to my clients through planning and regular interactions. I try to help them by creating strategies surrounding business expansion, acquisitions, transitions, and divestitures, while explaining possible pitfalls and then properly planning for those transactions.

My personal approach is to ask 100 questions. I want and need to understand each client’s business. I have no fear of asking questions. In fact, my only fear is I won’t ask enough. I’m motivated to provide insights, not just compliance services.

I belong to the AICPA and the MICPA. I received my B.S. in accounting from Central Michigan University.

Outside of work, my interests are spending time with family, hunting, land management, boating, and building anything (farm fields, ATVs, cars, remodeling). Everyone knows I like to keep busy.
