Beth Bialy

CPA, Audit Partner

​As the leader of Plante Moran’s governmental practice, Beth brings innovative ideas coupled with practical experience to the firm's governmental clients so they can stay apprised of new accounting pronouncements, state laws, fiscal trends and best practices.  She has 27 years of experience with the firm and is responsible for client relationships, work quality, and staff development. Beth’s personal approach to client service includes frequent communication with her clients and a genuine concern for their best interests. They know that whatever the problem, Beth will be there to get them through.

Beth and her team of 200 governmental auditors specialize in local government auditing and consulting. Beth coordinates the ongoing audit engagements and A-133 compliance audits for more than 300 cities, counties, townships, and special purpose government entities. She is also a founding member of Plante Moran’s Women in Leadership initiative. 

Recent special projects include:

  • Participating in a newly elected Governor’s transition task force to determine how the state could help local governments during times of decreasing revenues.
  • Serving as a speaker for the State of Michigan Emergency Manager training.
  • Resolving a dispute with a large County constituent community regarding dedicated millage tax collection. 

Beth is often asked to speak to clients, their councils, and boards on a variety of topics specific to governments. She recently spoke at the Michigan Association of Public Employees Retirement Systems on the current state of local government and given updates on property tax and revenue sharing at client training sessions.  In addition, in March 2014, Beth received the prestigious Being a Difference award from the NASBA Center for the Public Trust. This award honors individuals for their exceptional contributions to ethical leadership in business and community impact. Beth has a B.S. in accounting from Wayne State University.
