Headshot of Jim Cowgill

I’m an avid golfer and have recently started to walk all 18 holes more frequently. So, even if I’m not scoring well on the course, I know I’ve benefited from walking a few miles outside.

Experience

I’m the office managing partner in Boulder, and a leader in the hospitality industry. As such, I work with hotels and hotel management companies, various types of resort properties, and private club clients, as well as select technology companies, venture capital firms, and their portfolio companies. I’ve been with the firm for over 25 years and, during that time, I’m proud to have built my career on a strong work ethic. I care about my clients for the talented people they are, not just for the successful companies they represent.

My colleagues and clients would probably say I’m hypersensitive to meeting and exceeding deadlines. I’ve enjoyed playing a role in professionally mentoring and developing many of our younger associates over the years, which helps to both strengthen our firm’s reputation and provide clients the best possible service.

Over the years, I’ve been asked to moderate at various conference panels related to hospitality and venture capital trade groups. I also regularly present to client executive teams and boards of directors.

I’m a member of the AICPA and the Colorado Society of CPAs.  Locally, I’m on the board of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals where I previously served as president for five years.

I’m a lifelong native of Colorado, having attended Metropolitan State University of Denver, where I received a B.S. in accounting. When I’m not working, I try to spend as much time as possible with my wife and two daughters. My favorite times are when we escape as a family to the mountains, whether skiing in the winter or golfing in the summer.
