I don’t shy away from bold gestures. On my last day of high school, I stormed into the lunchroom, climbed on top of a table, and loudly sang “I think I love you” to my then-girlfriend who later became my wife.

Experience

As the leader of our firm’s higher education practice, I help my clients by monitoring the latest industry trends and advising them on best practices for growth and future success.

As a resource on Office of Management and Budget’s Uniform Guidance, I help institutions stay current on regulatory changes and work through federal award requirements related to student financial aid and research and development.

Growing up with a father who owned his own business, I’m very comfortable relating to business owners. My older brother is also an accountant, so one could say that the desire to help organizations succeed is in my genes. My clients know I’ll always go the extra step to ensure their needs are being met.

With 20 years of experience, I’ve spoken to numerous banks and law firms on recent accounting changes, including revenue recognition and leases and the impact that it will have on them and their clients. I also speak to higher education institutions on FASB and GASB changes and their impact.

I’m a member of the Ohio Association of College and University Business Officers, the National Association of College and University Business Officers, the Central Association of College and University Business Officers, the AICPA, the MICPA, and the Ohio Society of CPAs. I’m on the Ambassador Council of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, and the membership committee of ACG–Cincinnati. I received a B.S. in accountancy from Calvin University.

Outside of the office, our family stays busy with kids’ activities. At the moment, they dance and play soccer, but I’m trying to get them into golf. I enjoy relaxing with my wife and friends.
