IT transition saves money and improves functionality
In another instance, our technology staff helped the new owners of a manufacturing facility through an IT transition. Agreements with the seller covered continued services for up to 12 months, during which period decisions had to be made on 270 software applications, several servers, many IT contractors, network components, and a phone system. In the first 30 days, we helped select and implement a new e-mail system, made changes to the phone system, and trained the new accounting staff on the existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
In fewer than three months, new purchasing and inventory systems had been chosen, the contracts negotiated, and implementation completed. In four months a new ERP system went live. Because of our fast response, the new owners realized more than $200,000 in savings on the cost of their transition agreement.
