The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed into law on March 23, 2010, and in recent months, limited regulatory guidance has begun to trickle out. Namely, the government has issued regulations related to coverage for adult children, grandfathered status for existing plans, and coverage for preventive services. Many of the required plan changes are effective for the first plan year beginning on or after September 23, 2010. This webinar will include a summary of the healthcare provider environment and the impact to healthcare costs.
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Discuss healthcare reform’s grandfathering, adult-children coverage, preventative care, and additional implications with the legislation
- Identify tax related “large” employer penalties and the impact of the Medicare tax
- Explain the timeline of effective changes in the next 18 months
Presenters: Ed Murphy and Michael Krucker, health and welfare plan experts; James Minutolo, tax consultant; and Tony Colarossi, healthcare industry consultant, all of Plante & Moran
