The recently passed 2010 tax act offers new flexibility in gifting and has increased the amount one can shelter from estate taxes.
Although we don’t know for certain what will happen two years from now, we do know that the current climate affords a variety of planning opportunities and it is important to revisit your estate plan. In light of the larger exemption, questions are arising about the amount of insurance necessary. We will examine all of these questions and how they relate to your overall planning.
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe the sections of the new tax code that impact estate planning
- Develop actions and strategies to leverage the new gifting flexibility
- Discuss the use of insurance as a wealth transfer tool
Presenters: Kelley King and Trevor Royston of Plante Moran Insurance Agency (PMIA) and Mandy Chardoul, an estate planner with Plante Moran Financial Advisors (PMFA).
