Leading plastic manufacturer U.S. Farathane will be expanding to Riverside, Missouri, part of the greater Kansas City area. The company will invest $51.6 million in a 220,000-square-foot facility and is expected to create 267 jobs over the next three years.
Leading plastic manufacturer U.S. Farathane announced it will be expanding to Riverside, Missouri, part of the greater Kansas City area. The company will invest $51.6 million in a 220,000-square-foot facility located in the Riverside Horizons Business Park and is expected to create 267 jobs over the next three years.
Based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, U.S. Farathane has 2,700 employees and has been supplying products to OEMs around the world for over 40 years. This new facility — the company’s 11th U.S. manufacturing location — will be retrofitted with new equipment and machines for the production of injection-molded plastic parts for the Chevrolet Malibu and interior plastic parts for the Ford F-150 pickup truck and new Transit Van.
Andy Greenlee, president and CEO of U.S. Farathane, said, “Expanding to the Kansas City region puts U.S. Farathane in a great position to better serve our customers and expand our presence in the automotive industry.”
The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) has offered an economic incentive package that includes $2,146,926 from the Missouri Works Tax Credit Program and $285,000 in Missouri Works Training funds. These funds are contingent on U.S. Farathane meeting the DED’s job creation and investment criteria.
Plante Moran Cresa Partner Brandon M. Podolski worked with the company on its expansion.
“We worked closely with U.S. Farathane to identify and review options in five states and believe this location will offer them the best opportunity for further growth in the years to come,” Podolski said. “Among many benefits, recent development in Kansas City was an important criteria that made an impact on the expansion. Kansas City had new inventory that we could get up and running quickly, and it accommodated today’s heavy supply chain machinery.”
