Please join us in congratulating Zach Brown, vice president with Plante Moran Real Estate Investment Advisors (PMREIA), for earning his Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst® (CAIA®) certification.

The CAIA Association, according to the organization’s website, is a “global professional credentialing body dedicated to creating greater alignment, transparency, and knowledge for all investors, with a specific emphasis on alternative investments.” The designation CAIA® is a “globally recognized credential for professionals managing, analyzing, distributing, or regulating alternative investments.”

“Earning the CAIA® designation as a working professional takes a lot of personal drive,” said Marty West, president of PMREIA. “On his own volition, Zach took exhaustive courses in topics covering alternative investments, quantitative and statistical foundations, real assets (including real estate, commodities, and infrastructure), hedge funds, and private equity vehicles to name a few.”

“I’m confident the rich curriculum provided by the CAIA Association will serve me well in the daily analysis and evaluation of investments for clients, as well as we continue to grow PMREIA’s services,” Zach said. “I’m looking forward to my membership in the CAIA association and am grateful for the support from the firm and staff over the past year as I studied for the exams.”

Zach took the Level 1 and Level 2 exams in September 2020 and March 2021, respectively, passing both on his first attempt. With pass rates for both of these exams just over 50%, members who successfully complete both are among an elite group of about 11,000 professionals worldwide.

“The team is proud of Zach for his commitment to being a lifelong learner,” said Marty. “His additional knowledge will benefit PMREIA and our clients as Zach continues his due diligence work on real estate investments.”
