Plante Moran announces the election of 16 new partners

Southfield, Michigan – Plante Moran, one of the nation’s largest certified public accounting and business advisory firms, has announced 16 new partners in seven offices.

Anthony J. Belloli, CFP®, CTFA®, CIMA®, is based in the firm's Southfield, Mich., office. Belloli joined Plante Moran Financial Advisors in 2002 and transferred to Plante Moran Trust in 2009 where he is now a Senior Trust Officer. Belloli specializes in the administration of irrevocable trusts, estates and family offices. He holds a bachelor's degree summa cum laude from Oakland University and a master's degree in business administration from Wayne State University. Belloli currently resides in Oakland Township.

Phillip Clay Brown is based in the firm's Southfield, Mich., office. He joined Plante Moran in 2010.  Brown is the practice leader for the medical device management consulting practice. He holds a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and a master's degree from Webster University. Brown currently resides in Bloomfield Hills.

Andy Covode, CPA, is based in the firm's Cincinnati, Ohio, office. He joined Plante Moran in 2000. Covode is a leader in the firm’s Food & Beverage and Manufacturing & Distribution industry groups. He holds a bachelor's degree from Miami University and a master's degree from University of Cincinnati. Covode currently resides in Cincinnati.

Jennifer Culotta, CPA, is based in the firm's Chicago Riverside office. She joined Plante Moran in 1999. Culotta is a leader in the firm’s not-for-profit practice, where she delivers insights to finance and audit committees to improve fiscal oversight, governance policies and internal controls. She holds a bachelor's degree from University of Illinois. Culotta currently resides in Batavia

Dan Hawn, CPA, is based in the firm's Southfield, Mich., office. He joined Plante Moran in 1999. Hawn serves in the Forensic and Valuation Services Group where he specializes in the valuation of closely-held debt and equity securities and intangible assets for a variety of purposes. He holds a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University. Hawn currently resides in Northville.

Alex He, CPA, is based in the firm's Shanghai office. He joined Plante Moran in 2004. He is the country leader of the Plante Moran Shanghai office where he assists foreign-based clients engaged in international business and Chinese companies investing outside of China. He currently resides in Shanghai.

Todd McClain, CFP®, is based in the firm's Detroit, Mich., office. He joined Plante Moran Financial Advisors in 2002. McClain is a relationship manager in the firm’s Wealth Management practice and serves high net worth individuals and families as their chief financial officer. He holds a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a master's degree from Walsh College. McClain currently resides in Troy.

James Minutolo, JD, is based in the firm's Cincinnati, Ohio, office. He joined Plante Moran in 2002. Minutolo is a member of Plante Moran’s National Tax Office. He assists businesses and business owners with structuring and implementing sophisticated tax strategies. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from Vanderbilt Law School. Minutolo currently resides in Cincinnati.

Chad Schafer, CPA, is based in the firm's Southfield, Mich., office. He joined Plante Moran in 2000. Schafer specializes in providing health systems and healthcare organizations with assurance and consulting services. He holds a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University. Schafer currently resides in Williamston.

Robert Shefferly III, CPA, is based in the firm's Macomb, Mich., office. He joined Plante Moran in 2004. Shefferly serves in a tax leadership capacity as a member of the firm’s National Tax Office where he specializes in assisting private equity funds, portfolio companies, and owner-operated, privately held corporations and partnerships. He focuses on numerous tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions of stock and assets, including reorganizations, acquisition and disposition planning, tax modeling and restructuring. Shefferly holds a bachelor's degree from Davenport University and a master's degree from Walsh College. Shefferly currently resides in Dryden.

Carla M. Smaston, CPA, is based in the firm's Southfield, Mich., office. She is an international tax specialist for businesses and individuals. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. Smaston currently resides in Northville.

Mark Sutton, CPA, is based in the firm's Auburn Hills, Mich., office. He joined Plante Moran in 2005. He is a leader within the firm’s real estate and construction tax practice and is the director of tax education for the firm. He specializes in complex partnership transactions, REIT taxation, and sales and exchanges involving real estate. He holds a bachelor’s degree and a master's degree from Walsh College. Sutton currently resides in Oxford.

Lisa Vargo, CPA, is based in the firm's Auburn Hills, Mich., office. She joined Plante Moran in 1994. Vargo is an assurance partner with the Housing and Community Development team where she specializes in assisting for-profit, not-for-profit, and governmental entities. She holds a bachelor's degree from Wayne State University. Vargo currently resides in Shelby Township.

Gregory Walthorn, CPA, CFP®, is in the firm’s Wealth Management practice for high net worth individuals and families. Walthorn serves as his clients’ personal CFO, assisting them in matters concerning overall wealth management, investment management, income and estate taxes and retirement planning.

Michelle Watterworth, CPA, is based in the firm's Southfield, Mich., office. She joined Plante Moran in 1991. Watterworth is head of Plante Moran’s governmental standards practice, where she oversees all technical aspects of the firm’s governmental practice including emerging governmental accounting and auditing issues. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. Watterworth currently resides in Orion Township.

Jonathan Winterkorn, CPA, is based in the firm's Cincinnati, Ohio, office. He joined Plante Moran in 2006. Winterkorn is a leader in the firm’s national Tax Solutions Group. He holds a bachelor's degree from Concordia University.  Winterkorn currently resides in West Chester.
