Plante Moran Named to “100 Best Workplaces for Women” List

September 30, 2015 Press Release 2 min read

Southfield, Michigan – Plante Moran, one of the nation’s largest public accounting and business advisory firms, has been named to the “100 Best Workplaces for Women” list from Fortune.com and Great Place to Work®.

The full list, which was announced today, is available at GreatPlacetoWork.com/Reviews and Fortune.com. The list recognizes companies for their commitment to creating a great workplace for women and is based entirely on employee feedback.

More than 135,000 women at 635+ companies answered a detailed, 58-question survey that covered topics from the fairness of their company’s promotions to who has access to information and leadership, the level of support for staff members’ personal lives and the degree of inclusiveness and connection they feel with colleagues.

“Creating a workplace of equality and mutual respect has long been of the utmost importance to us,” said Gordon Krater, Plante Moran’s managing partner. “We’re proud to be included on this list — it’s a testament to our team’s hard work to create a diverse, collaborative and inclusive environment.”

With offices throughout Michigan, Illinois and Ohio, as well as in Mexico, China and India, Plante Moran has long been recognized as a leader in implementing programs that address the unique needs of women in the accounting profession. In 2012 the firm amplified its efforts by launching its Women in Leadership initiative for the attraction, retention, development and advancement of women into leadership positions within the firm.

“Plante Moran recognizes that organizations with broad diversity perform better — and if half of our workforce is women, they should be at the table,” said Sue Perlin, leader of Plante Moran’s Women in Leadership initiative. “The firm is committed to creating equal presence, impact and influence from men and women at all levels of the firm, including partnership.”
