Southfield, Michigan – Plante Moran recently welcomed Dr. Heidi Steiner to its Southfield office as a senior manager.

Bringing 25 combined years of experience in nursing, health informatics, and technology consulting to the firm, Dr. Steiner joins Plante Moran’s healthcare industry group, which helps organizations focus on clinical quality and patient satisfaction while improving margins. In her new role, she will help clients improve outcomes and achieve value from large investments in healthcare technology by harmonizing workflow, technical, and human factors.

Dr. Steiner will also be adding to the firm’s thought leadership on concepts related to healthcare technology, inspiring clients with innovative ideas that they can turn into a reality.

Prior to joining Plante Moran, Dr. Steiner was a system clinical informatics director for Trinity Health.

Dr. Steiner is a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the American Nursing Informatics Association, the American Nurses Association, and the American Medical Informatics Association. Additionally, she frequently presents to healthcare professionals on informatics strategy, best practices for technology implementation and optimization, and leveraging technology to improve outcomes and patient engagement.

Active in the community, Dr. Steiner volunteers at Kensington Church in Lake Orion, Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac, St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Almost Home Animal Rescue.

Dr. Steiner holds a bachelor’s degree in community health education from Eastern Kentucky University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisville. She earned her master’s degree in nursing informatics and Doctor of Nursing practice degree from Walden University. Dr. Steiner is also board-certified in nursing informatics and as a nurse executive by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Dr. Steiner is a native of Youngstown, Ohio, and currently resides in Rochester, Mich., with her husband.
