As part of Plante Moran’s 10-person management team, I lead our tax practice and serve as the firm’s chief risk officer.
I’ve always had a knack for numbers, an interest in business, and a passion for helping people — so when my college professor introduced me to the accounting profession, I knew it was a natural fit. I joined Plante Moran after graduating from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and working for a large worldwide automotive parts supplier and never looked back.
Prior to my current role on our management team (which has spanned more than 10 years), I led the firm’s government practice, which now serves more than 500 governmental organizations across the United States. Throughout my more than 30-year career with the firm, I’ve been in charge of various corporate audits, reviews, and compilations; completed countless consulting engagements; managed IRS audits on behalf of corporations and individuals; served as an expert witness; and assisted with merger and acquisition transactions.
I have a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and received the William A. Paton Award for the highest grade on the CPA exam in the state of Michigan. I’m also passionate about supporting the accounting profession, having served on the MICPA’s Legislative Committee and chairing its Political Action Committee. In addition, I’ve served on the Governing Council of the AICPA.
When I’m not working, I enjoy a number of outdoor activities.
