Experience

A Plante Moran assurance partner, Joe specializes in serving entities with complex equity and debt structures often associated with private equity or foreign ownership. He’s known for his client-centered approach, attentive service, and high client satisfaction.   

Joe has 30 years of experience providing services to both privately-held and public clients. His primary area of expertise is providing assurance and tax services for middle-market companies in the manufacturing, distribution, and service sectors. In addition to providing audit and tax services, he assists his clients in navigating the constantly changing business environment and improving their operating controls and financial reporting. 

Joe often serves clients with global affiliations, and he has traveled extensively to Europe and to Japan as part of his service to his internationally-active clients. He’s also part of our firmwide private equity group client service team and regularly interacts with private equity firms and their portfolio companies. 

Throughout Joe’s career, he has served on boards and committees at a variety of civic and religious organizations. He has experience both in participating and chairing board committees, preparing and reviewing operating budgets, and interacting closely with organizational staff members.  He also regularly meets with his clients’ audit committees and governing boards. 

Joe has a B.B.A. from University of Michigan-Dearborn and is certified to practice public accounting in Ohio and Michigan.
