Bernardo graduated as a Public Accountant from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO), holds a master’s degree in Taxes from the Univeridad del Valle de Atemajac (UNIVA), and is a Certified Public Accountant from the Instituto Mexicano de Contadores Públicos.
He is a founding member of the Guadalajara chapter of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), former president of the Tax Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, Guadalajara Chapter, and currently belongs to the American Chamber of Commerce Guadalajara Chapter’s Executive and Directive Committees.
Bernardo has published articles on tax matters and has been quoted in external publications, including Nearshore Americas, where he contributed insights to “Mexico’s Competitive Edge Continues to Erode”. He has also lectured in the United States, Mexico, and Colombia. During his professional career, he has advised companies starting their operations in Mexico from the Fortune 500 to clients for whom Latin America is their first venture outside their home country.
