As a vice president with Plante Moran Real Estate Investment Advisors (REIA), Nick provides insight throughout the various stages of the real estate investment cycle, including acquisitions, capital markets, investment strategy, management, and dispositions.
He has guided clients through the closing, administration, and conversion of hundreds of millions of dollars in construction loans. Known for his highly analytical and forward-thinking approach, Nick possesses the ability to assess situations with multiple variables and high complexity in order to meet his client’s real estate investment goals.
Prior to joining Plante Moran REIA, Nick was an audit and tax associate with Plante Moran specializing in the real estate and local municipal industries. In this role, he successfully managed large team engagements involving investment funds with hundreds of millions of dollars in assets under management. These engagements required analysis in partner allocations, tax and economic basis, state and local taxes, as well as many other financial and tax issues. By effectively navigating through the rules and regulations of various compliance agencies, including the IRS, SEC, and FINRA, Nick provided financial, taxation, and other guidance to help ensure his clients were in compliance with necessary requirements.
Through this experience, Nick developed expertise in partnership and individual taxation, investment structure and strategy, and financial analysis and projections. Nick also has experience with local government entities, zoning, and property taxes.
Nick is a graduate of Hillsdale College, where he earned a BS in accounting. Nick is a certified public accountant (CPA) within the state of Michigan.
