Lynne is the partner in charge of the firm's exempt organization tax practice.  She specializes in advising a variety of tax-exempt organizations on issues of importance in tax reporting, minimizing tax liabilities, and obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status.

Lynne is known as a well-rounded advisor serving the broad spectrum of the exempt organization community, including public charities, private foundations, social clubs, credit unions, educational institutions, and healthcare organizations. She assists clients with:

  • The start-up process, including coaching clients through the analysis of the eligibility for exempt status and preparing the application for exempt status.
  • Identifying and minimizing unrelated business income.
  • Analyzing and reporting tax-related information from alternative investments.
  • Handling IRS examinations.

Lynne recently led the development and presentation of a webinar for our nonprofit clients and friends on the importance of using the Form 990 to provide the complete picture of an organization's accomplishments. She is also a regular speaker at a variety of industry organizations, including the Council on Michigan Foundations.

Lynne has a B.S. in business administration from Central Michigan University, summa cum laude.
