Experience

As the Regional Managing Partner for the Rocky Mountain region, I provide a solutions-based approach to internal and external client relationships. I specialize in entity structure, innovative tax planning for individuals and closely held businesses, and executive coaching and consultation in areas of business transition planning, management incentive plans, and succession planning. I serve organizations in the real estate and construction industries, with a focus on multi-family housing and commercial and investment real estate, as well as high-net-worth individuals and closely held family businesses.

Around the office, colleagues know me for my energy, positive attitude, and teamwork. I’m extremely passionate about serving others and developing deep relationships built on high trust. With over 35 years of experience, some of my greatest accomplishments include leading our tax team and the expansion of our practices and services in the Denver marketplace. That growth has fueled tremendous opportunities for our clients as well as for our staff.

It’s been a privilege to create professional development opportunities for so many talented staff to advance in their career and contribute to our Firm’s success. I’m grateful this career has enabled me to build deep relationships with clients, professionals in Denver’s business community, and my colleagues. In August 2023, I received a C-Suite Award from the Denver Business Journal in recognition of my leadership in the Rocky Mountain Region offices.

I’m often asked to speak on emerging tax issues to various Chambers of Commerce events as well as CFO and CEO roundtables. Recent topics include tax legislation and tax strategies for closely held businesses. I belong to the AICPA and the Colorado Society of CPAs. Additionally, I sit on the Metro Denver Economic Development Council Board, am an advisor to the Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado Dean’s Leadership Council and a Boy Scouts Trustee Board member. I received my B.S. in accounting from the University of Northern Colorado.

Like most Coloradoans, I try to get outdoors when I’m not working. I enjoy golfing, snow skiing, and attending professional sporting events. I spend most of my free time with my wife, Kelly, and our children and grandchildren.
