As part of the professional standards team, I’m the technical leader for the energy industry. I provide technical accounting and financial reporting support with an emphasis on debt and equity, derivatives, employee compensation, mergers and acquisitions, SEC regulatory compliance, and risk management. I’m also actively involved in the training and development of our energy team.
I have over 20 years of experience and focus on distilling complex accounting topics into easy to understand language so that my clients and team members can take appropriate actions. I’ve enjoyed helping to grow our oil and gas, and energy practices while helping these clients address the challenges they face with running their business.
I’m a member of the AICPA, the Colorado Society of CPAs, and the Colorado Oil and Gas Association, I’m also a member of the Western Energy Alliance, a conglomeration of companies engaged in environmentally responsible exploration and production of oil and natural gas, and the Women’s Energy Network. Additionally, I’m the president of the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS) Education Foundation, member and past president of COPAS-Colorado, and an advisory board member for Great Education Colorado.
I was named a Top Woman in Energy by the Denver Business Journal in 2018 and have spoken to client and industry groups and firm-sponsored educational events on such topics as financial reporting changes and suggestions for addressing implementation.
I received my B.S. in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington.
I enjoy music and attend many concerts each year with family and friends. I also enjoy musical theater and have season tickets to two theaters.
