Headshot of Kevin Lang

After high school, I had offers to play Division 1 football as a long snapper. However, I wanted more and so I landed at Hope College. My clients can be grateful that my professional career never took off.

I provide innovative and value-added services to the franchise and multi-unit sector of the consumer goods and services practice.

When owners feel they’ve outgrown their current service provider — usually they feel they’re paying too much in taxes — they come to my team. We help clients achieve the goals they’ve set for themselves and keep money in their pockets.

I was previously the Auburn Hills Office Tax Director for Plante Moran, but I think it’s my background from time spent in the business sector that enables me to think a little bit differently than the average tax guy. If I’m only preparing tax returns, then I’m not doing enough. I offer a very thorough approach to tax planning and consulting, and my clients appreciate that. If business owners have units in multiple states, I know how to help them with state and local matters. If they’re interested in a business transition, then I consult on succession planning.

I’m proud of my work to launch our franchise tax practice. Not only can we better serve clients but we’ve also been able to increase growth opportunities for our staff. When a team member gets promoted to partner, it’s rewarding for all of us.

I’m one of a few partners at the firm with a Certified Franchise Executive designation. I received a B.A. in accounting from Hope College and an M.S. in taxation from Walsh College.
