Experience

I help high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth business owners and individuals review and create their estate, insurance, and business succession planning strategies while navigating the tax considerations associated with each step.

While working for Plante Moran, one of my greatest accomplishments was helping a client define a path moving forward with a very sick parent. Another instance was being brought in to a relationship to help organize a business succession planning discussion that will ultimately impact more than 20 family members. I’ve always enjoyed working closely with people. Learning how to balance quantitative facts with family and/or business partner harmony has been very rewarding.

Because of my expertise, I have presented at a meeting of the Institute of Management Accountants regarding estate planning and have co-hosted a Plante Moran Wealth Perspectives podcast related to life insurance planning. I belong to the American College of Financial Services and earned my B.S.B.A. in general management from Central Michigan University.

My hobbies include golfing, watching movies, grilling, camping, and occasionally clay shooting. I spend most of my free time with my wife, Anne, and our son, Graham.

When I was in college, I was a manager for one of the companies that offers college students' services to paint homes. As a result, I've painted the entire exterior of our house and most of the interior.
