A tax partner at Plante Moran, Teri provides tax planning, wealth transfer/estate planning, accounting setup and review, and financial planning services to family offices, high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and real estate investors. She also advises service companies in sectors such as staffing, wholesale, leasing, and finance.
During Teri’s 25-year career, she has become known for taking a personal interest in her clients and prides herself on consistently exceeding their expectations. Her ultimate goal is to be her clients’ go-to person for all accounting, tax, and financial matters to help them achieve their family planning and financial goals. Most recently, Teri has (1) provided planning and tax-reporting services for U.S. owners and beneficiaries of foreign trusts, (2) advised clients on doing business internationally, (3) helped clients transfer wealth to the next generation through family and investment limited partnerships and trusts, including QPRTs; (4) structured IRC Section 1031 like-kind exchanges to defer tax from gains on the sale of property; and (5) consulted with leasing and finance companies on tax-efficient structure of leases and accounting for capital and operating leases.
Teri recently spoke at the AICPA Tax Strategies for the High Income Individual Conference and has spoken at webinars on Residence and Home Mortgage Interest and Surviving Times of Uncertainty—Guiding Clients Into the Next Year. She is a regular contributor to The Tax Advisor. Teri has a B.S. in finance from The Ohio State University.
