Bob leads Plante Moran's Wealth Management Industry and is a partner with Plante Moran Financial Advisors (PMFA). For more than 25 years, he has focused on helping families achieve their financial goals, coordinating investment strategies, estate planning, income tax planning, and mutual fund strategies into well-designed plans. Additionally, he helps families design and implement family offices to meet their special needs.
Known for his holistic wealth management advice, Bob’s clients appreciate that he has their best interests at heart and his independent, objective approach. Recently, Bob has worked with families on revising their family office structure, reviewing their investment policies, and establishing wealth transfer strategies for future generations. He is often asked to speak to entrepreneurs, their families, and at industry conferences about topics of interest including developing best practices to meet financial objectives in an independent, unbiased environment. Additionally, Bob serves on the board of directors for Plante Moran Trust, a chartered trust bank and Plante Moran Insurance Agency Services LLC, PMFA.
In 2000, Bob was named one of Crain’s Detroit Business’ “40 under 40” for his role in creating Plante Moran Financial Advisors. In 2007 and 2008 he was named to Barron’s “Top 100 Independent Financial Advisers” list, and in 2008, he was listed as one of “The Top 250 Wealth Advisors” in Worth magazine. Bob has a B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University.
