Sue specializes in serving many of the firm's significant foundation and cultural institution audit clients. She has more than 30 years of experience serving not-for-profit organizations in all areas of accounting, audit, tax, and business consulting and is the past leader of Plante Moran’s not-for-profit industry group.
Sue is known for her active involvement in the attraction and retention of women leaders at the firm and is currently leading the Plante Moran Women in Leadership (PM WIL) initiative. This newly launched initiative is designed to accelerate Plante Moran’s ability to attract and retain women leaders and to be a leader among accounting firms in the number of female partners.
Sue is often asked to speak to clients and their boards about governance and accountability issues, fraud considerations for not-for-profits, and implementation of new audit standards. She is also asked to speak to other companies and industry associations regarding PM WIL and trends and progress of women to leadership positions.
Sue has a bachelor of arts degree in accounting from Michigan State University. She has been named to the Crain’s Detroit Business “40 Under 40” list and is a graduate of Leadership Oakland VIII.
