I’m an energy specialist and serve both public and private upstream, midstream, and oilfield services companies. My expertise includes technical upstream and midstream accounting and auditing issues that impact oil and gas companies, such as energy trading, derivatives, hedge accounting, consolidations and structured finance, and the full cost and successful efforts methods of accounting.
Teamwork and people attracted me to my career as an auditor. Throughout my life, I’ve always played sports and knew I wanted a career where I’d be working in a team environment with a common goal and, throughout the process, we’d motivate each other and build deep professional and personal relationships.
I’m frequently asked to speak at client board and management meetings on topics related to current practices in their industries and the effects on their business or operations. I belong to the AICPA, Colorado Society of CPAs, Denver Petroleum Club, Council of Petroleum Accountants Society, Western Energy Alliance, Young Professionals in Energy, and Gas Processors Association. I received my B.S. in accounting from the University of Redlands.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, golfing, soccer, baseball, and doing anything with my children and wife.
