I've long been drawn to the business aspects of the healthcare industry and, with over 30 years of experience, I’ve earned a national reputation for navigating the complicated world of reimbursement. Clients appreciate that I understand the complexities of their business and work closely with them to develop strategies and tactics that better position them to respond to ever-changing economic, regulatory, and market influences.
I advise my hospital and health systems clients on post-acute integration strategies to facilitate clinical integration, operating efficiency, and financial success under value-based models of care. I'm actively involved in numerous projects with post-acute care providers, helping them strategically reposition skilled nursing facility assets and develop the skills required for risk-based contracting.
I've been with Plante Moran for over 20 years, working part-time many of those earlier years and pioneering the firm's popular Alternative Work Arrangement program. This program has been instrumental in giving staff much-needed flexibility and has contributed to staff retention and satisfaction, particularly for women leaders. I’m a frequent speaker at state and national conferences on healthcare reform, and I’m a frequent contributor to publications like McKnight’s and Becker’s Hospital Review. I hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University.
