I specialize in working with governments and not-for-profit organizations, including cultural institutions and foundations, to provide assistance with financial forecasts, best practices, internal control assessments, and required compliance services. Throughout the year, I work with my clients to address issues, discuss strategic initiatives and proactively provide ideas for helping them implement new standards and improve operations. Helping my clients with their needs throughout the year lets me feel like I’m part of their mission, and I’m providing value to their organization.
I’ve been with Plante Moran for 20 years and the diversity of public accounting is what attracted me to this career. I’m always doing something different each day. Whether it’s working with clients to resolve issues, or developing our staff to become better client servers while balancing their personal and professional lives. I’m proud of the work I’ve done to grow the government and not-for-profit practices at Plante Moran, clients have referred me to others, and I‘ve helped my team members find their strengths and overcome challenges.
Because of my expertise, I often speak with my clients and their governing boards about industry trends, best practices, and internal controls. I belong to national and state accounting organizations, including governmental associations such as GFOA, MGFOA (legislative committee), and IGFOA. I’m a Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center board member. I have a B.S. in business administration from Wayne State University (summa cum laude).
I appreciate the flexibility this career allows and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My husband, four children and I love being outdoors and enjoy traveling. For an escape, I like to read mystery novels.
